A New Solar Assisted Heat Pump System with Underground Energy Storage: Modelling and Optimisation

The objectives of this work are: (a) to present a new system for building heating which is based on underground energy storage, (b) develop mathematical model the system, and (c) optimise performance system. includes Photovoltaic Thermal Hybrid Solar Panels (PVT) panels with cooling, an evacuated solar collector water-to-water heat pump. Additionally, storage tanks, placed underground, are used store waste from PVT cooling. thermal produced by collectors both domestic hot water preparation storage. Both assembled sun-tracking achieve highest possible gain. Optimisation proposed considered Renewable Energy Sources (RES) share during period. Because resulting optimisation problem nonlinear, classical gradient-based algorithm gives solutions that not satisfying. As alternatives, three heuristic global methods considered: Genetic Algorithm (GA), Particle Swarm (PSO) algorithm, Jaya algorithm. It shown outperforms GA PSO methods. most significant result 93% covered using unit consisting two tanks.
